We held our mission rehearsal today. Key players on the LRO, LCROSS, and vehicle launch teams practiced the countdown and communications protocols, while dealing with introduced anomalies. It was a great learning experience for all. We are now ready for the real thing! All went well at yesterday's flight readiness review. LRO is go for launch!

One week until launch! Today we are holding our Flight Readiness Review. We will take a look at LRO, LCROSS, and launch vehicle work and ensure that we have taken care of all the details. Any last minute items that still must be done will be checked off at the Launch Readiness Review next week.
LRO and LCROSS are sitting comfortably on top of the Atlas V rocket. LRO completed its aliveness and interface testing on June 2. The operations team held a commissioning meeting with the instrument teams this week, preparing the final details for our instrument activations. We are running some additional simulations, ensuring that all is ready for the flight to the moon.

At Launch Complex 41 on June 1, the integrated systems test, an electrical test between the LRO/LCROSS spacecraft and the Atlas V launch vehicle, was completed successfully.
On June 2, an integrated launch vehicle/spacecraft telemetry test was conducted successfully to verify that the LRO/LCROSS state of health parameters within this data stream can be fully monitored.
On June 3, launch vehicle ordnance operations were performed.

After testing our patience this week the weather finally allowed the transport of the LRO to the launch pad. The transport of the stacked and encapsulated LRO/LCROSS payload began at about 2am Thursday morning and culminated with the attachment of the payload atop the Atlas AV-20 rocket at about 9:30am.
